Located in East Kerr County, Zanzenberg Farm specializes in raising heritage breed pigs on pasture. Much like heirloom vegetables, heritage breeds were very common on the American homestead centuries ago. Justin and Kayte take extra care to raise these animals on open pastures where they are free to breathe in fresh air, take in the natural sunlight, root in the nutrient rich soil and are pampered with daily mud baths.
Their diet consists of a diversity of greens from the pasture, free from corn and soy and finished on whey and cheese from our very own local cheesemaker, River Whey Creamery.
The pork is pretty incredible. Full of flavor and loaded with vitamins and minerals, it's unlike any pork you'll ever taste! But don't take our word for it. Drop in to one of our markets this week and pick up a pack of chops!
The smell of sweet pork roasting, a smoking fire... all the aesthetics! A pig roast catered at your next event... We do that!
